Here is a volunteer brag by Aimee Crane, Communities In Schools of North Texas Program Manager at Borman Elementary in Denton Independent School District.

"My oldest volunteer is 91 this year! She is so happy and glad to still help out however she can. She had hip replacement surgery this summer and we (myself and the rest of her group) were concerned about whether she could still volunteer and how she would get into the building, etc.

"This morning, she parked in her normal spot which is as far away from the building as you can get and walked up with her cane. When she walked up the steps and into the building she had a great, big smile on her face and picked up her walker saying that her doctor told her to take it with her whenever she went out, but she wasn’t sure what she should do with it… and proceeded to dance a jig. I hope when I am that age that I will be just like her!"
