Denton, TX – January 21, 2009: Members of the Leadership Denton class, in an effort to make a difference in the community, conducted a drive to collect coats for children served by Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT), a local dropout prevention program. This generous support comes at a time when coats are in short supply for students served by CISNT.
“We were so excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the CISNT cause as part of our Big Give initiative by sponsoring a coat drive for the students that CISNT supports. Thank you, CISNT, for helping keep kids in school” commented April Cain, Leadership Denton Class 2008-09. “We are deeply grateful for the efforts of the Leadership Denton class to help meet this critical need” states Gary Henderson, CISNT CEO. “Keeping students healthy is a basic yet critical step in helping at-risk students succeed in school.” The mission of Communities In Schools of North Texas is to provide and coordinate community based solutions that that equip at-risk students to overcome barriers, succeed in school and prepare for life.
