One of the roles of the Communities In Schools program is to make sure that each student's and family members’ needs are met. During the holidays, this can be a daunting task. Each of CISNT programs organizes holiday assistance, called Giving Tree through local community resources.

The Giving Tree provides food throughout the holiday season, as well as toys for the children to help families celebrate the holidays. CISNT staff works with local companies, organizations, churches and families to coordinate assistance for the families who need help. It is a goal that every CISNT child and family has plenty of food and special presents during the holidays.
