FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GE Invests in Children
Members of GE Commercial Finance present a $15,000 check to Communities In Schools of North Texas at Central ElementaryLewisville, TX – January 26, 2007: - GE Commercial Finance donated $15,000 to Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) for their program at Central Elementary in Lewisville. GE Volunteers presented the check to CISNT during the weekly “Breakfast Buddies” mentoring program at Central Elementary. This donation is the result of an ongoing mentoring partnership between GE Commercial Finance employees and CISNT students that began at Hedrick Elementary and expanded this year to Central Elementary.

“The children in our community are very important to the employees here at GE”, states Jo Wiley, GE Financial Analyst. “It is exciting to have our company demonstrate this level of financial support for a program that we as employees believe in so deeply.” GE’s commitment to mentoring led to bringing together their CISNT mentors and Big Brothers Big Sisters mentors to impact the lives of children at Central Elementary.

“GE’s investment in children demonstrates their understanding of a growing need in our community. There are more than 1,000 students at Central Elementary and over 90% of these students would deeply benefit from a mentoring relationship”, says CISNT Executive Director, Gary Henderson. “We are deeply grateful for the contributions GE has made to our program”

Communities In Schools of North Texas is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization operating school-based dropout prevention programs since 1994 across North Texas in Denton ISD, Lewisville ISD, Little Elm ISD, and Northwest ISD, bringing community resources to the benefit of students in need.
