Capital One Bank Invests in Education in Lewisville ISD with Grant to Communities In Schools of North Texas Lewisville , TX – January 23, 2008: Capital One Bank awarded $25,000 to Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) for their work in Lewisville with students who are at-risk of dropping out of school. The grant from Capital One Bank allows CISNT dropout prevention staff working full time at Central ES, DeLay MS, Hedrick ES, Hedrick MS and Lakeland ES to continue to provide case management services, basic needs services and coordination of dropout prevention programs including CISNT’s mentoring program.
“CISNT and Capital One Bank have an outstanding partnership that focuses on helping less advantaged students succeed” says CISNT executive director, Gary Henderson. “Capital One Bank associates serve as volunteer mentors at several of our schools, their investment in our CISNT students extends beyond their financial support.” The grant award was presented to CISNT by Capital One Bank Vice President, Mr. Shaun Knapp at the January Lewisville ISD school board meeting. Accepting the award with Mr. Henderson were Lewisville ISD school board members Ms. Amber Fulton, Ms. Carol Kyer, and Ms. Kathy Duke and Lewisville ISD Superintendent Dr. Jerry Roy. This is just the beginning”, commented Mr. Knapp. “CISNT is an excellent program that Capital One Bank will continue to invest in significantly in the future and we challenge other businesses across North Texas to join us in supporting the education of our children, especially those less fortunate and at risk of failure.” CISNT, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is focused on bringing the vast resources of the community to students who are at-risk of dropping out of school through intensive case management and strategic volunteer mentor and student resource deployment.
