present Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) is focused on helping students in grades K – 12, from disadvantaged backgrounds overcome obstacles and succeed in school, and in turn, prepare for life. Students who come from low socio-economical backgrounds often do not have the resources needed to succeed in school. CISNT staff members serve full time on a school campus providing a wide range of services to students in Denton ISD, Lewisville ISD, Little Elm ISD, and Northwest ISD. In preparation for the 2005-2006 school year, CISNT is projecting that there are over 2,000 students that will receive direct services by CISNT, and who will begin school without the school supplies needed to pursue academic success. Each CISNT campus office has a “School Supply Closet” to provide these students with supplies that they otherwise would not have. To address this urgent need to secure school supplies for these students, CISNT in partnership with Office Depot’s DENTON and LEWISVILLE locations are presenting “STUFF THE BUS”, a school supply drive, to help raise community awareness of the problem that these students face, provide community members an opportunity to purchase NEEDED school supplies, and donate their purchase by leaving it at Office Depot for CISNT to collect and distribute to students. Donors will be provided a tax deductible receipt. NEEDED supplies will be marked with the CISNT logo as shown below: Supplies purchased may be placed into the”Stuff the Bus” donation bin.
